Principal Investigator

I am Oscar Gonzalez, Ph.D., and I am an Associate Professor of Quantitative Psychology in Department of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame. I earned my Ph.D. on Quantitative Research Methods in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2018.  From 2018 to 2025, I was an Assistant/Associate Professor of Quantitative Psychology in the  Department of Psychology and Neurosicence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a proud Notre Dame alum from the Class of 2012.

I’m a psychometrician by training, and I focus on how different aspects of psychological measurement affect the conclusions we make from causal models, such as statistical mediation models, and prediction models, such as machine learning models. I currently teach courses on machine learning and statistical mediation at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
